Thank you to all who supported Austin and his family during the Christmas season!  Austin is a cheerful and encouraging young man and we are thankful to know him!   Austin has several more months of treatment so we ask that you continue to pray for him and his family.

Austin is a fifteen year old young man who enjoys playing football, and loves his little brothers. He seemed really tired to Mom, but she knew that he’d been working hard at practice. She also noticed that he’s been getting headaches, so she took him to the pediatrician. Since mom had headaches when she was a child, everyone assumed that the headaches were hereditary and he was giving a prescription, as needed. Almost three months later, Austin looked jaundiced and he could barely walk. They tested him for Mononucleosis and that came back negative, but his white blood count was extremely low. They sent him to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Austin’s in-patient stays are for 30 days. He will repeat 4-5 cycles of this. He has just finished his first round. Mom said he is in good spirits!
